Best Sinfest ever.
So after a couple of weeks of worky harshness, the universe relented and granted me a great birthday yesterday. I wasn't expecting it since my plan was to work for 10 hours, go to the late yoga class and generally act as though it was a normal Wednesday. But my first indication that it wouldn't be that way was in midafternoon when my feature worked. You know, the feature that was listed originally as a 2-day task that I'd been stuck on for about a week and a half? It finally, suddenly worked, and the next 'one-day' task was (mercifully) a two-hour breeze. So it was with a much lighter heart that I went off to my favorite yoga class of the week and got all stretched out.
Came out from there to find that a warm rain had started up, and, not wanting to ruin my suede sandals, I decided to walk home barefoot (only about 3 blocks, and I didn't remember seeing any broken glass lying around). I can't explain why, and maybe it was that I already felt all in touch with my body from yoga class, but it felt really neat. I don't think I'd been barefoot outside since last summer, and with the rain the sidewalk was sort of soft feeling. A surprisingly sensual experience.
To top things off, I got home and HLM was waiting for me with my present. As the rain got heavier and the thunder started up, I unwrapped it to find an Audi-oh and a good CD to go with it (and the required Y-cable for direct use with a CD)! Wow... my bug definitely loves me and wants me to be happy. We played with it (mostly just in our hands) for a little bit and then gave up... thunderstorms have always made us both feel extra friendly, and what with the yoga and the barefootedness and the present and the storm, I probably don't need to tell you the evening went uphill from there. I am so lucky to be with someone like HLM! Being fucked from behind while watching the rain has to be one of my favorite things on earth. :)
Today was another good day at work and now I'm off for a 3-day weekend of guilt-free domesticity. I did take time to look back at about this time in 2004, when I was in the midst of interviewing at Politic Frog... yeesh, rough times. Thanks to all who saw me through that one... and if you're on my friendslist that's most of you.

Date: 2005-06-10 06:44 am (UTC)Anyway, glad you umm....enjoyed your birthday. After we talked that night I went to go look up audi-oh (though I had a good idea from the conversation what it was) - then I keep thinking, with every thunder roll, oh that's a good one for Flexy. Haha, get out of my head woman!
I love walking outside in a summer rain storm. The sidewalk does feel kind of soft, I know what you mean. I have a fairly strong desire to get naked and take an outdoor shower too, but I suppose that isn't an activity for Boston.

Date: 2005-06-10 12:47 pm (UTC)And, sorry about the Russian... I didn't see that little sign about 'Please take off your shoes upon entering' until I'd been in there for like half an hour. My bad.
Try sitting next to B tonight... she knows Russian.

Date: 2005-06-10 07:35 am (UTC)The Audi-oh is such a cool toy. Especially considering you have a musician as a husband!!!

Date: 2005-06-10 12:52 pm (UTC)Ha. You know, I hadn't even thought of that, though everyone else seems to have thought of it instantly... I was just thinking of using it with CDs. If there ever was an excuse for buying thumpy, misogynistic music that I normally wouldn't listen to, this is it. (What's good that way besides 2 Live Crew, btw? Ideas?)
And you thought musical vows were cool....
