Speaking of communities, there exists a community C such that C is in ([livejournal.com profile] lisp). And looky, there's also [livejournal.com profile] mathematics and [livejournal.com profile] algorithms. Geeky-cool... but I doubt I'll join any of them.

For some reason I've felt like this was a nice long weekend. Despite two social engagements I had time to do laundry, cook and study a chapter and a half worth of Lisp. We also finally made the decision to go to Belize this winter along with the [livejournal.com profile] bluechromis/[livejournal.com profile] jg26/[livejournal.com profile] hiddenbear crowd, which has been kind of hanging over our heads. And the condo association has decided on a contractor to redo the exterior of the house, though this is a mixed blessing (time to decide on a color scheme).

My head has been buzzing lately. Some (not all) of it is due to reading Naomi Klein's scary book No Logo. You all know I like Starbucks and I think I may come out of this book believing that branding is necessary if people are really to support manufacturers who pay workers a living wage... however, something about reading it in Starbucks sort of made me feel like an Asshole (TM). I wanted to ask the baristas what they were making and if they thought it was fair.

Well, at least Starbucks provides health insurance, and lots of free coffee and tea. They don't make insane amounts of money, but a former roommate said it wasn't bad.

Delocator (http://www.delocator.net/index.php): for when you're feeling guilty about Starbucks patronage.
