Of shoes and ships and sealing-wax

flexagonLast night I wanted to destress, so I set myself a short list of easily done things, and I did them. One of those things was playing with my new sealing wax kit, which was fun even though I didn't totally figure out how to do it right. Apparently, dripping is the way to go, and I was sorta melting the end over a candle and then smearing. But there's also a glue-gun type approach. This is all separate from the traditional stuff that you melt in a spoon and then drip. And then you can fake wax that won't get broken by the mail machines, but we're paying extra postage specifically because our invites are square and can't be handled by the mail machines anyway, so I don't think I have to worry about that. Hmmm.
While doing searches on sealing wax, I stumbled across a bridal site by accident: Out with the old and in with the new. Plain, simple ring bearer pillows are out! Try using an antique, colorful or a richly designed pillow. Stay tuned for an upcoming article on the newest pillows. That does it. No ring pillow for me, no ring pillow at all, and take that, you crazy bridal-industrial complex!.
Anyway... I was thinking today would go better than yesterday, but it's looking like another of those weeks where the first thing on Monday's to-do list takes all week. Shit... that was last week. I don't need another of those! I did forget to mention that T and his wife seem to already have a baby girl--it'll be born in August and nothing's certain certain until 3 days after that when the birth mother signs the papers, but things are basically settled and T is bouncing around the office like a cork, he's so excited.
