Progress, definite progress

Yay! The Day My Ferret Died has been written up (and retitled). Five characters, 493 words, fait accompli. And I made my very first home-ground, home-brewed cup of coffee ever, and it was surprisingly good. And seeing Porcupine Tree in concert on Friday night was great too.

So now... story about an object. I bet this one will turn out to be crap. I'd write about The Day I Stuck a Tampon Up My Butt When I Was 12 (And My Friend Was Supposed To But She Chickened Out), but I don't want the class to think I'm entirely fixated on my life as an emo preteen.

Ha. Maybe so. And yes, it really happened. We were a little crazy in those days... knowing we were going to get our periods reasonably soon, and just insanely curious about everything. We had also been reading way too many of my friend's mom's romance books, so after I did the deed my friend asked "So was it, like... caressing?"

That line makes me laugh every time I think about it, now. :)
