A short rumination on the human sense of smell

You know what smells weird? Other people's poop, that's what.

I'm serious. We all get so used to the smell of our own poop. Later, we get almost as used to the smell of our family's poop, bad as it may occasionally be. But try having a houseguest, walk into the bathroom, and there it is... the faint, unmistakable, surprisingy different, xenophobia-inducing smell of STRANGER POOP.

I don't remember being quite so sensitive to this when I had a ton of roommates.
