Pente board. It started at $10 and sold for $18.27. Yes, I understand that getting all excited over $8.27 is a bit off, but dammit, I made something and the market wanted it and this is good. :)
That's pretty cool. Hey, profit is profit. Now you just need to find a way to crank out Pente boards by figuring out how to save money on material. :) I'm guessing you already have that down though since I do recall you put some thought into this. This is just your test market right?
What I would recommend is setting the starting bid for $20.00 next time and see if that sells. I bet it would and if it doesn't then you know, $15 (the middle price) is roughly the best you're going to get.
Well, not really; I only have leather enough for 2 more boards (the squares are cut out, I just have to draw the board markings on with a Sharpie). All this came about because I wanted one for me, but had to buy enough leather for four boards. It cost $30, so if I can make $30 back off the three extra boards (plus the scraps), that'll be it for this particular venture. $18 down, $12 to go.
I was thinking of trying to get stones at an aquarium store so I can market the next one as a complete game... I think that might get me disproportionally higher bids. We'll see.
What are you selling?
