A couple of thoughts for V-day, early

If you're feeling anti-romance, check out the Bittersweets at despair.com. They're cute little heart-shaped candies that say things like WANT 2C OTHERS, CALL A SHRINK and KICKED 2 CURB. Very funny.

If you're feeling pro-romance, check out this stanza from a poem by Robin Becker (not a famous poet, just a friend of a friend). It's a bit on the iambic side, and I do wonder at the ending implication that you're not living, or maybe just not being brave, while you're kissing. But I really like that last line anyway.

I hope to stand with those who love
their lives in time to live them,
bravely, between kisses, beneath stars.

We see the financial guy tonight. Must be nice... must... be... nice...
