Thinking about the 123 pounds, last night I asked A whether I looked all right. He started off with "well, your butt might be a little saggy..." before going on to say that I looked good. Criminy... perfectionists simply should not marry one another!

Amazon is up to some really nasty tricks with their pricing. I've been researching digital cameras a little because I can get $500 worth of technical gadgets per year through my company. I had $400 left to spend on a camera and had decided to get this Olympus one because I like the brand and it has the highest retail price I could find for under $400. I went there from my laptop at home and Amazon had it marked down by 30%... spent some time reading comments, left and went back to find it knocked down only 25% (a significant difference on an item with $599.99 retail price). I thought maybe all this was just bad timing, but today the same thing happened on my work computer. I went there to get the exact camera name so I could fill out a purchase form and it was knocked down 30%... now it is only 25% again. How annoying. I expressed my disdain by buying a used-but-in-factory-box one from an individual seller.

If it weren't for my company I would never shell out the money for high-tech toys, but I'm definitely excited to get this camera. I still need to buy a memory card for it (and maybe an external battery pack), so it isn't really free, but it should be fabulous to have next month when we go to Europe. Assuming I haven't exacerbated (ex-ASS-erbated?) our current argument too much by sending grouchy email to A, of course. I just can't decide how pissed I am, or for that matter how insecure to feel. God, I'm an idiot. This is why I hate insecurity. I manage to go from one comment, which gave me no new information and which I was quite calm about yesterday, to being sure I'm marrying someone who looks at me 50 times a day and thinks "saggy butt." Well, things have always worked out between us before, and they'll do it again... the hard part will be getting this unpleasant new meme out of my brain. :(
