I have to get to work early tomorrow so I can leave early... so if I do my weekend wrapup now I won't slack (in this particular way) tomorrow.

Saturday was entirely taken up by going to a wedding of HLM's and my good friend S. It was a pretty traditional wedding--didn't see any especially good ideas to steal. But it was nice enough and she got married successfully, and we got to see friends. On the way back I spent about an hour kicking around the pros and cons of quitting tae kwon do, which is a surprisingly complicated issue.

Today I slept in, fitfully, and had weird dreams. Breakfast, laundry. Then I went to TKD stretching class and had a little talk about my troubles with M, who works the front desk there. Needless to say, that had me a little weirdwired. When I walked out of there into the sun I could just feel sanity leaking back in through my pores. Sat for a while with my bagel and Mighty Food waiting for the bus and just chillin'. My weight workout was decent, not great because I had gotten overcaffeinated somehow*, but a perfectly good time; my legs are back to slowly getting stronger. On the way back I bought Hear Me Out!, which I've been wanting for a long time, and some mailing tubes for Pente boards. Did some random chores. Around here my laptop started crashing in a bad way, and by bad I mean after it forced me to do a hard reboot it would run ScanDisk, and ScanDisk would crash and call Microsoft ScanDisk, which would hang. Yipes! I guess Win98 really, really doesn't like Trillian. Time to copy a few files to HLM's machine and pack it up for an illegal Windows2K upgrade courtesy of work. :b

After HLM left for orchestra practice I got a case of the creeping dissatisfactions and decided to go stir up trouble in Harvard Square. Said trouble consisted of buying CDs. I was looking for Mezzanine by Massive Attack and something recent by Alan Parsons Project, but what I really got is Mezzanine (as planned), The Complex by Blue Man Group (which I had forgotten existed when I was making plans) and The Sign by Ace of Base (used for $3.99, what the hell). Couldn't find any APP anywhere... guess they aren't cool anymore... so I picked up a pizza in lieu of groceries and came back home. Think I'll work on another Pente board for a bit. Or maybe I'll just keep reading Boggs: A Comedy of Values, which is a really interesting look at money as art, art as money, our faith in art and money, and value. I'd never heard of it until my friend T lent it to me, but it's great.

(*) I'd imagine this had something to do with that Starbucks visit, but I had the same coffee I always get on Sundays, so I'm still not sure what went wrong; but my heart was really pounding. Go figure.
