This morning I had a fabulous plan to get in to work early and do fabulous things as my office building glinted in the fabulous early-morning light. Woke up before my alarm and thought I was all set, until I read what the clock actually said, and noticed where its switch was set. Aaaaaaarrrrrhhhh! I HATE THAT.

Anyway. I think today I'll post about condo type stuff... I've been thinking about this again lately, since noticing my savings is actually getting somewhere (we should have our original planned down payment in the bank around next Feb or March). Too bad I don't have it now... mortgage rates are so low I have to wipe drool off my shoes every time I look at boston.com's real estate section.

Things [livejournal.com profile] soyfetus really wants in a condo:

Five-minutes-to-the-red-line location

Two rooms that can be used as studies

A shower with a hard sliding door--short rant )

A dimmer switch (and pretty lemon-yellow paint) in the bathroom

A dishwasher--I'm sick of doing two people's dishes

A porch our kitties can go out to, like we have now, if possible

The nice thing is that this should actually be doable. It's so much more fun to want things you can actually have! My friend V pointed out recently that I'm a little odd for having such a strong nesting urge while not wanting children. I guess that's true. But I want to nest anyway.

I think she thinks I'm a freak for showing up in her comments yesterday with my idea of the top 11 SF novels, but that's all right--her friends page just told me that I can add the daily FoxTrot to my friends list, thus eliminating one stop from my daily surf. I had no idea! Be my friend, [livejournal.com profile] foxtrot_feed... and [livejournal.com profile] dilbert_feed too, while I'm at it.

(I could also have gotten [livejournal.com profile] calnhobbes, but that seems to be older stuff from the books--most of which I already own.)

By the way, yes, [livejournal.com profile] bluechromis and [livejournal.com profile] horshack, I have missed you, and there are things I've been purposely waiting to post until you get back. Come back, come back! The veil of boredom over my life does seem to be lifting--work was interesting today, and now I have plans to see Finding Nemo with B tomorrow. But having more friends in town can only help. Especially if they have good St. Croix stories to tell. :)
