26 years and all's well...
Jun. 8th, 2003 10:09 pmHum de hum, looks like I'll be awake for a while (slept in late this morning) so I may as well record the fact that I had an awesome 26th birthday. There was no freaking out; apparently I got that over with last year. All there was, was some good sex; going out to breakfast; reading The Martian Child, one of Friday night's acquisitions, which turned out to be really good despite the snarky reviews on Amazon; perfect caffeination and a new leg press record at the gym ( a detail ); and dinner with lots of friends, every single one of whom I was truly glad to see. (As for that last, I really do feel blessed, or lucky or accomplished or something. I mean, actual friends and a little tiny family, my god. Real gratitude is beginning to worm its way into my stunted little soul.)
So, a good day; and lest I forget the loot, I got three Dr. Seuss books and a wax letter-sealing kit and some other random stuff.
bluechromis definitely wins the prize for seeing something I didn't even know I needed. Good, good job, my dear, I shall think of you every time I melt the wax. :)
I seem to remember there was some other wedding stuff to post about. Right, we got our free invitation samples in the mail and decided what to order, but haven't yet; and we saw the partial portfolio of a woman who might do our photography for us if HLM's photographer uncle doesn't come. She had one shot of a wedding party where everybody was jumping; I forgot I just love those. HLM blames himself for our recent lack of progress, and actually, a lot of what's left is his to do. Mine not to question why, mine simply to calmly remind from time to time and do first drafts for him to edit. Surely I can do that without it devolving to why can't you make a few simple decisions!?... 26-year-olds are mature enough to do that... right? *grin* Actually, I have to pass on this very sweet thing that he has said a few times now and said again this weekend, which is that he's more worried about the wedding than the marriage. Awwwww. I think I am too, though, actually. Dratted wedding.
I'll probably fall off my little cloud soon enough, but for once I think I'll not look ahead, and just enjoy it. So, okay, I'm off to read in bed for a bit.
