Honey, I'm hooo-ooooome.
Jan. 11th, 2004 12:48 pmFew things make me feel more desperately relieved than getting back to Boston after too much time away. Silly soy, to fall in love with a place... and thanks to everyone for the sympathetic comments, they did help keep me sane and feeling like my normal life still existed.
We got in at midnight on Friday, slept, and started advertising our apartment Saturday morning... I tromped around in the 0-degree weather putting up posters while HLM put us up on craigslist, then helped clean the place up, and later in the day we took steps to getting listed at the Harvard off-campus housing office and the Tufts off-campus housing office. We'll go to MIT on Monday and do that one in person. So far we have one nibble from craigslist and nothing from the posters, though one poster was missing last night as we passed through Porter Square, so someone must have liked it. (I put up another one there immediately, since I happened to be carrying my postering supplies around anyway. Blue, that little bag you gave me is the perfect size for that!).
The thumb-print is just now coming back in over the area I cut just before Christmas, by the way. That always amazes me--how does it know how to put the print back? I've got some crazy nano-machines gettin' jiggy in there. :)
Well, the nibble is coming over to see the place in a couple of hours and we should do some more cleaning before then. Plus I should be cooking lunch.
