More babble about moving, mostly
Jan. 11th, 2004 09:38 pmDo you want to know the latest apartment/condo stuff? Sure you do. The nibble (nibbles, actually, two guys) came by and really liked the place, but who knows whether they'll get by the landlords' screening... plus they didn't want to move in until March 1, sigh. I give it maybe a 20% chance of working out, and I'd really rather find someone who can move in February, but one interested parrty is better than nothing. We gave them the landlords' number, and gave the landlords their numbers, and now it's out of our hands.
Condo stuff is weird; we found out by phone last week that we have been approved for our big 80% mortgage, but not approved for the small 10% mortgage that the big one depends on. Uh, bank? Thought you were my bitch! So, this sounds like a crisis but isn't; our banker is re-applying for the 10% loan at the bank's affiliate company Citizens Mortgage, which apparently is a lot less conservative and will probably approve it, except now it'll be a balloon mortgage that we have to pay off at the end of 15 years. Sigh... whatever. At least we got the papers for the big loan in the mail while we were gone, and we overnighted them back yesterday, so that one should be on track.
I had a decent workout (legs only, my body refused to do more) and packed up four more boxes' worth of stuff--amazingly, moving day is supposed to be 3 weeks from yesterday, and as we pack we have to keep the place looking nice so we can keep showing it off. We're still so far from done, mostly because HLM hasn't started yet. Yikes. But then, he still has tons of time I won't have.
I may not be posting tomorrow since I'll be catching up from vacation, continuing my attempts to actually focus on work while at work, and meeting a new co-worker (he was supposed to start last Monday, but both bossman and I have been out, so if he started I have no idea what the poor guy's been doing all week). I bought a pretty new sweater yesterday... hmmm, sure, I'll wear it, may as well look nice for the newbie. Now, time for a wee bit of pre-bedtime piano... and then sleep...
