Well now, that worked out neatly! Yesterday, that is. I got some stuff figured out at work (I'm successfully calling JUnit tests from Ant and I got an Eclipse project set up), managed to leave at a decent time, spent a while buying good stuff at the hardware store, then got the house fairly clean before [livejournal.com profile] bluechromis f.l.a.k.e.d on our bathroom-painting plans. Had she called any earlier I probably wouldn't have gotten it as uncluttered--very clever timing, my dear, and thanks on that.

Painting was great fun, even done solo. There's something so daring and cathartic about painting black onto white. We got glossy solvent-based paint and no paint thinner, so it sure is a good thing I made no mistakes, had no dripping, and didn't spill any onto the floor or get any under my fingernails... mmmyup, okay, I'm lying. But I'm really happy with how it's coming out. Mad funky. I expect [livejournal.com profile] bluechromis will be very sad when she sees what she missed! Very very very sad.

Also, we now have a lamp in the main living room--let there be light, for... verily I say unto thee... tomorrow cometh the couch.

Ran into [livejournal.com profile] jg26 this morning as I hopped off the bus, and so I got a little jump on telling him happy birthday. Of course then I found out the entire day is a jump on when it really is, Monday. But it was fun running into him, anyway. :) And now I'm in a Grateful Dead mood... Saint Stephen will remain, all he lost he shall regain! Seashore washed by the suds and the foam, been here so long he's got to callin' it home. Here's to another hopefully rockin' day at work followed by [livejournal.com profile] jg26's birthday dinner with the gang. Should be good.

My coworker T is giving his wife one of these personalized romance books (he got Pirates of Desire) with their names inserted. The book is really nicely printed and bound--we're all impressed by the quality. And the same company also has children's books, presumably without the sex. I love it! Something to write down in my little Excel file of gift ideas, perhaps.

Forgot to mention (speaking of sex), I'm soooo sore today. Well, wait, not from sex though. From lifting. Even though I didn't benchpress the 45s because I couldn't. Ohhhhh, moan, groan, I'm in pain. I'm glad the birthday dinner is preventing my TKD workout, and so there! A day off is most welcome at this point.

Go read about Del and Phyllis, the two women who were first married in San Francisco yesterday. What a long and amazing story--and while I think the SF thing is basically a publicity stunt, I'm glad these two are again stirring up trouble at the forefront of the movement.
