A piece of my mind
Jul. 23rd, 2004 10:57 pmWell well. I just came back from a party I really wish I'd lifted weights instead of going to. ( Ever go to a friend's party and just not like their other friends? ) Ummkay. So I'm home now. And I can lift first thing in the morning and still hit the afternoon TKD class fresh as the proverbial daisy.
Aside from this evening, it's been a great (if overly busy) week, mostly due again to work being great. It flew by. It does help a lot that I technically get off work at 5:00 instead of 6:00 now--I get to stay half an hour late, feel like I'm leaving half an hour early and have extra time in the evenings. I'm pretty sure I did cool stuff on Monday night, and of course saw the skunklets. Tuesday we spent all evening fixing oursqueaky screechy front storm door by rehanging the door on a new hinge we got from HD, and at the end I felt like we were the best homeowners ever. Weds basically didn't happen due to Dale Carnegie eating the evenings... that class is starting to fall together nicely and I should post about it someday, but it's so separate from the rest of my life that tonight is not the night. Last night I did advanced TKD and had a drink with AJ and Lin, because my bug was at an orchestra rehearsal anyway, and also brought home the new mirror that came in for the bathroom. Let me tell you, it's purty. Possibly even worth what it cost. ;) It looks a tiny bit silly on the icky old wall with the holes still ripped in it from the claw hammer, but hey... we have it, we might as well have it up.
( Oh, and I also ordered some curtains at some point midweek... )
Tomorrow we will sacrifice yet a few more hours to the bathroom in the form of an Expo Design Center trip, at which we hope to buy our slate tile and figure out the cost of acrylic bricks, the kind you make a translucent wall out of. Right, and buy a vanity. It's gonna be an expensive day, but probably a good one. So, now that I've ranted all the rants I was storing up all week... here's to the weekend. :)
