Adventures of the day have included removing one arm from my Aeron chair (whee, I felt like--like--a mechanical engineer, there for a moment!) and making hummus from scratch. Small things, yes, small fun things are good. And goddamn a lot of small pieces came out of that Aeron when I finally got the arm off, so I should be all set. Even if my warranty is void void void void void.
Oh, and another happy moment came when I found out B and D are going to stay in town after all, instead of moving away next year! I know it's theoretically sad that D won't be going to grad school, but I just love them and I never see them and now the friendship will have more time to deepen. And, as B happily said, this way they can have kids sooner... ah, well, B is so tolerant and open that I know I won't lose her friendship over it, and she really wants the little crawlers. :) I was at her place for the Super Bowl last night when I learned all this, by the way, and walked home during the 2nd half of the game. The streets were dead empty, the kind of thing that makes you think about The Stand and wonder where all the people are.
Hmm... I'm alive and happy. I am excited about the books I bought Saturday, and about the word flexitarian. Our taxes are done. And now it's time for sleep.
