My timeslip is showing
Jul. 20th, 2005 10:04 pmThere once was a plane in O'Hare
that couldn't get into the air.
The reason: a beast
of a storm in the east.
'Twas a dreary and boring affair.
More fun to read a limerick about than to experience, let me assure you. After a long sluglike day of Harry Potter ingestion and a very intergenerational 2-day visit with my family* I managed to land in Boston four hours later than planned. That feels like it was all about 7 minutes ago -- really not sure how I got from that moment to what I am assured by all sources is Wednesday night.
Probably the nicest event to occur in the meantime was the arrival of offer letters from the company that bought the Frog. I would have been up for an annual review at the Frog last week, and just before the offer I got a very short but very nice letter from my boss, telling me the number to expect in the offer package and using the word 'excellent' to describe my work. The number reflects a positive review, so although I didn't exactly get a review, I suddenly feel 20 times better about just continuing in the directions I already have planned. Yay for feelings of lightness and relief. The Frog hasn't changed too too much just yet, and they still like me... I can stay a while. :)
