Found porn
Aug. 22nd, 2005 08:30 amFrom the back of the Skippy Squeeze Stix box comes the following Mad Lib:
Traveling the Globe on my (vehicle) with (friend), we found ourselves hungry. Faced with a choice of (animal) (body part) with (adjective) (vegetable) or our Skippy Squeeze Stix; We chose the Stix! While squeezing the Stix, they (action) on our (body part). We scraped off the peanut butter with a (tool), and we traveled on!
I picked up the box to marvel at how many ways people find to repackage basic food; HLM made us buy it so he could scan the above and send it to the "found porn" section of Maxim. Yikes... we have supported the repackagers.
Oh, and as for packaging and consumerism and related weirdness: the Gap shirt I bought yesterday was made in Brunei Darussalam (or is that Brunei Darussalam?)... a country I'd never even heard of before. I'd heard that the labels keep moving through the globe as various countries rise above sweatshop level, and it seems to be true. Not that I support sweatshops. Er actually, not that I don't, if only they would pay a living wage, but that's another story. :(
Globalization tickles!
