For those who can't mobilize to go help with Katrina aftermath, I found a place where you can donate to the Red Cross by credit card (and used it). And that, oddly enough, is the first time I've given away money, though there have been many worthy causes. Something about the things I read about New Orleans in What Should I Do With My Life... and now it's hurt. Poor city. Let's help it if we can.

I spent the weekend slowly becoming acclimated to the idea of again working with the Office Meanie, which is getting more likely all the time... sigh. )

And on the geeky side, I worked a lot on my new screensaver, which is a rather cute little traffic simulator, and wrote an infuriated Amazon review telling everyone in the world to watch out for the index of Practical Common Lisp. I'm finding it an incredibly slow read now, since I have to constantly look useful things up in the index to be sure they're in there (and half the time they're not, so I have to write them in with a pencil).
