Another MBTA story
Dec. 2nd, 2005 08:25 amSilly little story from yesterday morning: I was going to work and got off the bus a stop early so that I could get breakfast without going way out of my way. That left me with some busy streets to cross to get to work. Waiting for a break in some one-way traffic that was coming across an intersection, I saw a bus coming that I knew (by its number) would be turning left toward Lechmere, even though its signal wasn't on -- so as soon as the car in front of it signaled right and started to turn right, I crossed the road in the only 2 seconds that it could have been done. A couple of people sort of reacted but nobody else had seen the opportunity... :)
It was one of those tiny events that make me feel like I'm really at home here. Busses seem to be oddly key to this feeling -- the last time I got one this good was bus-related also. I am probably a freak.
Tonight's yoga class is the 2-hour 'master class' we sometimes get on a monthly basis, and the pose of the month is boat. Ack -- or perhaps I should say, kyrie eleison. While y'all are out celebrating with
bluechromis tonight, I hope you'll drink an extra drink to me and my soon-to-be-very-sore abs.
