Three things
Mar. 10th, 2006 07:53 amPregnant friend: I can't believe I didn't appreciate my body when I had it!
I actually think she still looks lovely, in that preggo way, but still.... *appreciates body like mad*
I found out from a link on Amazon this morning that Poppy Z. Brite is here on LJ as
docbrite. I didn't know she had such a large body of non-goth, non-horror, grownup books now. Sounds like I wouldn't like them as much as I liked her old stuff when I was younger, but there may still be some things from the transition that are worth rooting out and picking up. And I do like the blog. Depression, thoughts about Neil Gaiman and the Chronicles of Narnia, insider New Orleans knowledge, and the sentence Somebody's clawing my butt through the gap in the back of my chair. So... she has cats... presumably. *grin*
Also of interest -- and this is getting weird -- is that, although Poppy's journal allows no comments,
prime_liquor seems to be a community in which every post is addressed to her, and people are saying the damnedest things! She (he?) identifies as a non operative transexual? Huh. I have to stop now and go take a shower, damn it, but this may turn out to be one of the weird cases where learning more about an author you like is okay.
I have spent the week being bitter, angry and depressed even though nothing in my life has recently happened to make it so. Thinking has got to be the worst habit ever. Yesterday was nice, today will be nice; perhaps I can knock it off.
