By the way, I karaoked at the company party I wasn't even going to go to yesterday. Very strange. Actually doing it was pretty easy (I got someone else to sing with me, and picked an easy Bangles song) and people seemed to like it... and then I was left alone to feel slightly horrified at who I've become. I keep forgetting that, although it doesn't come exactly naturally to me, I am the kind of person who now has all the pieces to do a thing like that without disgracing myself.

The question is: if I didn't want to become that kind of person, then what was I doing singing in choir in college and taking voice lessons and learning public speaking after that, hmmm?

Be careful what you wish for.

Edit: I got lots of compliments the next day at work. Now I want to do it again!!
