That career meme that's going the rounds includes a probably-illicitly-shared username and password, so that's why people aren't always posting full instructions. Anyway, it says I should be a Computer Engineer, but in my top 25 are also Cartoonist / Comic Illustrator and Tailor / Dressmaker.... I guess it gots my number pretty good. :)
(Except that I'm still not sure if Computer Programmer is really what I'm doing. I don't like hardware; does it think Computer Engineer means hardware?)
My brain is so terribly full of details I should take care of before I leave Colubrid. Some are administrivia, some are technical things, and some of it is networking. Going to lunch with people I never have before, because it's my last chance... responding to "can we turn this into a non-work friendship now" signals from people I have been going to lunch with, because it's my last chance. Closing time... every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end.
My new company will henceforth be called Zillian -- it took me a while to think of this. It's a snappy misspelling of a large number, like the real name, and has a subtle Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy reference going on, which is perfect. I have Zillian startup activities to engage in, too -- and don't feel comfortable sending in my equipment preference sheet yet because they want me to pick a username. What to be, what to be @ zillian dot com? Most of the obvious manglings of my name are taken by other people, so I want to do something else. Something quirky but not ridiculous. I went back and found a post from when I was searching for this LJ name... no real help there. I don't want to be
flexagon, but something else from geometry or math might work nicely.
Having returned from a pig roast, I'm off to a folk concert with
heisenbug. What a weird Saturday.
