I touched my chin to the floor while doing a straddle stretch yesterday, so that's my new record. No, my spine wasn't straight... maybe that can happen some other year.

Despite liking Christmas music in general, I am thoroughly grossed out by the songs that sexualize Santa Claus. Yes, I'm talking to you, you pouty tween-sounding woman of ill repute who sings Santa Baby, but I heard a different one yesterday that was even nastier. Ew ew ew ew ew.

I'm working from home, trying to check in a particularly hairy bug fix. Due to $CONFIDENTIAL_STUFF, I either get it in the next $SHORT_TIME_SPAN, or the bug will be live until $UNCOMFORTABLY_DISTANT_DATE. Sigh. :P I worked on this sucker a lot this weekend... if I get it soon enough, I think I'll decorate the tree for a while before going to the office.

A dialogue and a simulated garden

Today's kooky conversation takes place in a watch store:

me: I want to get the band cut shorter.
lady (mumbling): we can't do that.
me: you can't do that?
lady: no, it can't be cut because it's woven.
me: it was cut at SOME point when this metal cap got put on the end.
lady: yes, that's a factory weld. We can send it off to get it done, but it'll cost $50.
me: okay then!

As a businessperson, why would you say "no, we can't do that" when you can, and when you can charge quite a bit?

Also, I came home after a stressful work day and I beat Blueberry Garden, a "short experimental game about curiosity and exploration" that won the grand prize at the 2009 Independent Games Festival and only costs $5 (on Steam).

Some people totally didn't get why it won.
Some say "for the love of God, you need to try it." (SPOILERY)

I say if you like this 1-minute video, you're likely to consider your $5 very well spent. :-) I really liked that it was interesting, but not long enough to eat my life for any significant amount of time when measured in days.
