Things found in old condo during cleanup
Jan. 29th, 2011 10:14 pmEarring back, whiskers, replacement Christmas light bulbs, small tin of Proofide leather dressing (for bike seat), four band-aids, many dead insects.
Spending Saturday daylight hours fixing up the old place for someone else is annoying, but it's a good way to make tangible progress. Also a good way of letting go--much of the "fixing up" is really just erasing ourselves from the place, so that soon it won't feel like home at all. Sad, sure, but after writing two mortgage checks last week it's easy to see the upside.
In other news, the bug is catching on to this minimalism thing. He surprised me by asking if we really NEED that big blanket that just became landromat-only. Hmm, no, we really don't!
