Red red white white

I almost forgot to post this, but heisenbug and I have been together for 12 years today! As most of you know, "red red white white" means "1 1 0 0" which means 12.

This year we're being jerks about the anniversary because so much is going on. We met two different contractors at the old place this morning, and worked on re-hanging the bathroom door over there (and caulking the bathtub and spackling holes in the trim). We had lunch with some old friends, I went grocery shopping while the bug exercised... now he's off at a media lab thing he finds interesting. In the meantime I missed a bus to yoga, spent a ton of money at Sephora instead, and am now going to exercise myself.

My mother once told me that a failed marriage in her workplace was notable for the amount of stories like "Last night I did this one thing while Pam went and did another." She said to watch out for that. But I don't think this thing we have is going to fall apart if we have our date tomorrow night instead. It is, after all, mutual jerkery.

The bug got me my four roses anyway (red red white white) and left them on the laundry machine where I'd find them. Very fun. I had found a single white rose petal near the door of the condo, so I had a pretty good idea he had gotten the flowers, but I didn't find them right away.

The black cat, Rafe, has attacked them and sort of destroyed half of one of the red ones. He is like that. :)
