Re-entry is difficult
Jun. 20th, 2015 11:30 pm1) Work, after vacation. A mere 3.5 business days off is still near-disaster in terms of my inbox, and this is something I very much need to fix if I'm to go forward taking 5 weeks off per year. I have a nice shortlist now of things to read and not read (I read things sent directly to me, from my boss and bossboss, and to a couple of leads and announce lists; then I bulk select the rest, mark it with label "clueless" so I know I didn't read it, and mark them as read). But it's still bad, bad, bad. I'm chipping away at it every day. Some of the email threads have needed attention since before Vegas, and some from between Vegas and Paris, and I just really need this list to stop getting longer and start getting shorter.
2) Bent-arm strength work, after a few months off. It was a worthy experiment, but, ugh! Now I feel both weak and heavy when I do pull-ups, like I'm made of lead. Sigh. I've been doing something that I have specific records on from 2011, so I can prove that in 4 or 5 months I became weaker than I've been in at least the last four years, and I Do Not Like It. Hopefully I can figure out a way to work it twice a week instead of once a week, for a while, until I feel at least semi-respectable again.
