Weekend oil has been burned
Nov. 23rd, 2015 12:01 amHah -- I did it. By sending more than 20 work-emails in the past two days, a lot of them either technically involved or requiring some research before I could write them, I successfully cleared my queue of emails to answer. I still have plenty to do, some of which will be late, but -- momentarily -- I no longer have the guilt of knowing people's design decisions and bugs and questions are blocked on me. Yes it took most of my weekend, and it was worth it.
I hurt my thumb at LCS today and now it's turning colors. I don't like it, but meh... obvious-trauma injuries don't scare me the way less obvious ones do. This one will hurt for a while and then be fine.
Lastly, has anyone else here read Seveneves? I'm enjoying it; not the best I've ever read, but my kind of brain candy, and crushes all versions of the Bechdel test. Starting it also broke me out of some anhedonia on Friday where I was feeling really unexcited about life (and unsure when I'd ever find time and space to find something to get excited about); and that, in turn, got me thinking about reading as escapism. Who says that's a bad thing?
