flexagon: (blech)
I've been posting good things on purpose, but things have been difficult. And I have to travel next week (wait.. time out, I forgot to get a hotel in the 2nd city of the tour... fixed). My skinny old beloved cat has lost weight. And if I can't shake this stupid cough left over from last week's cold, I am soon going to rip my own throat out in frustration.

Someone left Zillian yesterday, from my team, in a sad way. It happened so fast -- decision and resignation letter on Monday, leaving on Tuesday. It was over issues so far beyond my control that I don't feel the tiniest frisson of guilt, so the sadness was untempered by guilt, but that just made it more potently sad. And guess who got to hold it together and go through a stupid checklist of administrivia, when I hadn't seen the person for a month, and then she said it was a good team and she wished us well, and had to ask her to shut her workstation all down and then walk with her to reception to turn in the badge? I'll give you a hint, it was the same person who got the joy of cleaning off her desk and cleaning out her pedestal thing. UGH BLEH.

At least I'm working out again. Tonight at LCS was pretty on point. I had an almost 1-minute handstand hold, and I middled maybe my best three-high ever with my trio. We're still in safety lines but nothing stops us from coming out, I think, after a few more practice runs and some more learning how to bail. After we did one that I think was textbook-perfect, we were freaked out by a bad fall happening elsewhere in the class (in which poor [personal profile] heisenbug hurt his toe, though his was not the dramatic part of the mishap). We built a second one anyway with the extra challenge of adrenaline-buzz, and I think I felt even more connected to the flyer that time but less to the base. Total nitpicking though, as both were solid builds, and the competence felt really reassuring and good.

I should be asleep now. Goodnight Dreamwidth.... goodnight moon.... goodnight, situations I hope resolve soon.
