Breast biopsy today

...was successful! I stuck my boob through a hole in a table, they slurped out the possibly-worrying calcifications with a biopsy needle from underneath the table, and they left a small titanium marker behind for the sake of future mammograms. I'll get results late next week, but in the meantime: I don't have to make a go/no-go decision on surgery without data. So that's great.

(I'm in the middle of reading The Calculating Stars, which apfelsingail lent to me and which just won the 2019 Nebula for best novel, and hearing the all-female biopsy team competently reading out coordinates to each other somehow seemed exactly like the pilots in the book. Oddly comforting.)
