Work, art, good old days
Jul. 13th, 2019 03:27 pmOh... I see. Part of the deal with work is that it felt like my team needed someone growing into a director position and, as usual, there I was trying to pitch in on the thing nobody else was doing. Now we have a director and it doesn't feel like anyone needs me to do that anymore, and I think that's influencing me just as much as all the rest of my thinking combined. I know I'm someone who tries to fill the gaps, but I didn't realize I was doing that yet again. Boringly obvious, in retrospect.
ArtBeat was yesterday and it was loud, and we wandered, and got this steampunk cat print from marcartshop and a ring from my favorite local jewelry artist, Amy Casher, who I like to support every year or two. I've been wearing a black baseball cap lately to get the sun off my face, and I'm not quite used to it; it makes me look super-sporty and also kind of washed-out.
Then I spent more time setting up my new laptop, which means some cleaning up of my old laptop, and fell into a memory hole of old acro videos from the glory days of 2012-2013. God, my handstand was TERRIBLE back then but acro will never be so fun again. It was mostly acroyoga, not the way it is now but the way it was then.... the videos are all community and endless exhilarated laughing, and badly lit video from late nights in the park, and we all felt like we were learning so fast. I deleted gigabytes of this stuff and still kept what feels like a lot. So many feels.
