Three good things
May. 19th, 2020 09:29 amI held a handstand for 68 seconds last Wednesday and 55 seconds on Sunday (in class, teacher's timer); my first minute-long hold in a while. I also took a private lesson on how to work up to doing cheststands and it seems like I might not be far off, which is fun. I now know that gyms don't open until at least Phase 3 of my state's 4-phase opening plan, which means at least six more weeks of training at home -- all right then, may as well do backbends.
My T-shirt quilt top is coming together nicely. Feels good to do a casual quilt with big pieces and generous seam allowances, which can hide numerous measuring/cutting/stretching problems with the knit fabric. I've done finicky quilts before and this one is more fun. Literally T-shirts and denim, with the occasional slipped zig-zag stitch or whatever fitting right in with the feel I want anyway.
My local Starbucks reopened sometime last week, doing outdoor pickup. I had my weekend-treat coffee from there on Saturday and ran out for a breakfast sandwich this morning, and omg it tastes like civilization. Worth washing my hands for.
