Winning a strange little scavenger hunt
Jul. 4th, 2021 09:51 amOK, I'm impressed with the medical system in this town. I'm working on getting rid of this endometrial polyp (nobody is too worried, but ousting them is the done thing), and on Thursday I had a consultation with the doctor in which I floated the idea of doing an ablation while she's in there. She wasn't sure about the safety of the metal-mesh version, due to my Essure procedure back in 2004, but she managed to find out it should be safe and effective if I could get the medical records proving full occlusion of my Fallopian tubes way back in the day. So on Friday I began a quest to find a medical record from 17 years ago, and went from "I have no idea what date that was" to "I have submitted a request for records from the central medical record office of that hospital" in a few hours. The next day they got back to me with the record!! I am impressed, and also tentatively looking forward to having a lighter period. (Amusingly, I've started a Google doc with notes on all this. The title is "Polyp" and I just keep seeing "Poly" in the tab and completely misinterpreting.)
I did my first back walkover of the year in the gym yesterday -- I'm tentatively wondering if I could learn to string them together this year -- and I got back up to 60lb on my Turkish Get-Ups, so both those things feel good.
