Good and improving
Dec. 5th, 2021 04:54 pmI'm starting to be less constantly aware of how many weeks I've been on leave. I did dial in to a social meeting on corp this week, as well as doing a fit meeting for someone who might be on my team (this was agreed upon in advance, by the way -- I'd much rather do a few fit meetings than come back to find randos working for me, especially randos crazy enough to hire on without meeting their new manager). It was an interesting and perhaps timely reminder that when I do go back, it'll be 50% for the people.
This week brought some successful stocking-stuffer shopping, amusingly first with Norwood and then Helios. Both trips were fun; I feel good about my chances of having a functional friendship with Norwood; and I helped both of them shop for their (other) ladies. We are all in love with Curio Spice Co now. And as for other shopping, I discovered that my pile of Audible credits can be given as gifts, so that's happening kind of in bulk.
In allergy news, my back is clearing up slowly... I'm still going to have post-inflammatory redness for a while. I found some cuticle oil that doesn't contain limonene or linalool. And also realized I should swap out the thing I've been using to scrub my back, since it very likely had traces of my old soap all over it.
I had my first solo handstand lesson this week to replace my acro lessons, and the coach is psyched that I'm working on an act. He's already taught me a new croc trick that I can probably clean up reasonably well.
During Christmas shopping I discovered that an old game I played on DOS when I was 11 or 12, Robot Odyssey, has been made available online (!) and I'm now getting into it at robotodyssey.online. It's lighting up some happy childhood memory circuits that you never knew I had... and it is a circuit-design game, so that's appropriate! I think I'll get a lot further with it this time, now that it's been 30+ years and I've studied actual circuit design.
