You probably all know that I'm a fan of rate-limiting. I purposely limit how many long-ish personal projects I'm up to at a given time, anyway. But I don't rate-limit how many one-off things I do in a week, and that bit me this time. A week when I really wished for more time to put into work, I found myself with a bunch of random pre-existing appointments, only one of which moved a long-ish personal project forward:

  • Monday: Dentist (my fangs are okay, good job meatsack), then a zoning attorney who's supposed to be helping us get our ADU legally rentable. Then work. Then a trip out to that vortex of bureaucracy and human misery, the RMV, where several things went wrong but I successfully applied for a RealID. On the way home I stopped at H Mart, at least, and that resulted in delicious snacks for the rest of the week; why don't I go there more often? Why, now that I always have a day in the office, do I ever not have shrimp dumplings in my freezer?

  • Tuesday: always a busy day, with long workout and work and squirrel date.

  • Wednesday: handstand lesson, then work, then another go at the ninja warrior class down in Wellesley. I had a little less fun this time, but it was social and I got a few things on video, including some fun ring swinging.

  • Thursday: a day of madness at work, then the bug was playing cello at a Lana del Rey tribute concert in the planetarium at the Museum of Science. So I went and listened, and watched the trippy light show, then headed home for some shaving and foot-scuffing in the tub while he prepared to do it all over again.

  • Friday was just a workout and a half-day of work, but by then I was so toast that I fell asleep before dinner. Hypercube also coughed way too much, early in the week, and so I put her back on nightly prednisolone on Weds. Should maintain that for at least a week before trying to taper down on anything else, the poor creature.

The weekend has been more cheery. I had one more one-off (an online workshop for "flexibility with weights")
but I also got to do some chores and unwind some. On the business front, there's a very promising application in for our main rental unit (the unit in the house, not the ADU) and now we get to send them the lease and see what they think of it, and maybe introduce them to the squirrel family. If they bite, their lease will start on April 1. I also took photos of the cottage this morning for the ADU application... someday, readers, someday we'll have renters.

I did a handstand workout and had a Zoom chat with an old friend in which I did another bag of Legos on the Starry Night kit, and I'm calling it a wrap.
