I had a dream last night that somehow 6 PM had rolled around, today, and I hadn't done anything except make myself breakfast. Eeep! But the day hasn't gone like that -- in fact, by 6 PM I had tried and failed at quite a few things. This extends a pattern that started on Tuesday -- this last work week was a disaster -- and it wasn't entirely unexpected, so I'll just savor the little tiny not-complete-failures like having bought extra Palm styluses when I first bought my Palm, rendering today's loss of my stylus a non-catastrophe.
One of the things I failed to do is buy a saddle stapler in Harvard Square, which means that my plan of assembling zines this weekend is off. I did find one eventually, at Bob Slate, but... for over $100. As the author of a zine about financial stuff, and knowing quite well that I could get one from amazon for $35, I couldn't justify that. So -- oh well, the beast is edited, and I have a title and cover design, and now the project can get a rest while my stapler ships. The influence of LJ on my life can be found in this: I ordered Acts of Levitation and Neko Case's Fox Confessor Brings the Hounds along with the stapler. :)
(Brief funny thing: the first Amazon review of this book about invisibility and levitation. Click if you need a laugh.)

Date: 2006-06-06 12:13 am (UTC)I will indeed want to talk about laynie brown, after I get the book & can read it. The funny thing about acts of levitation is that it has no reviews on Amazon! No reviews at all. You should go write one. Then I could write one and then it would have two reviews.
