Forward and back(bends)

With the help of a massage table, the opposite hand, some twisting and squirming, and the fact that I was wearing sneakers, I got into king dancer pose for the first time today! Of course, my splits were crap. It's hard to have a day in which one is good at everything. I did a few more fake back walkovers though, since my back seemed warm, and those were fun. I continue to have no luck calling Jamnastics about their adult gymnastics class, but I'm still pretty sure I'll sign up for the fall session (assuming there is one).
I've been working extra hours this week -- logging on from home at night to start processes and in the mornings to see how they did. Like many stupid things, one gets used to it and starts to feel like it's kind of a good idea.

Date: 2006-07-29 01:49 pm (UTC)The next step would be to do the above but start with a drop-back into the backbend... you posted a video of you doing that once, a while ago, but I haven't been practicing dropbacks lately so haven't gotten that far yet.
I didn't see sports acro for adults -- I think all they've got for grownups is the basic gymnastics class. Please correct me if I'm wrong! :)

Date: 2006-07-29 02:22 pm (UTC)even if you can't take sports acro, a sports acro coach would make a terrific private handstands coach if you're interested in that!
