By the way, I've set a record lately for private posts, posts only one person can see, posts only a few people can see, and so forth. It's not you; the world has felt big and confusing lately, on the verge of unbelieveable even. I used to feel this way all the time when I was a little kid.
Today felt nice though. Today I got my annual review. Those are not always fun, but this time my only complaint was the lack of negative feedback... if things are so great, what am I supposed to be working on improving, huh? (I can think of a million things I ought to be working on improving.) Oh well, I like the phrase universally respected, I like it a great deal. I liked ready to take on more technical leadership as well. Happy wiggles and warm fuzzies! :)
flexagon: What I want to do eventually is be a technical team leader, like Dan the Cat has been until recently.
Silver Fox (laughing slightly, looking ostentatiously at watch): How about starting, ohhhh, about...
flexagon (also laughing): No!
And in news almost as lovely, I'm going to trapeze school again on Monday afternoon! It'll be my second time flying, and I'll be with two first-time beginners (
heisenbug and a new friend I'm making at work). Even if it can't be as great as last time, I still plan to have a lot of fun. I just adore the surreal setting, with the trapeze in the jelly-bean landscape and the laser light show.

Date: 2006-08-23 11:33 am (UTC)I think the best advice I ever got is to make sure my job is central to what the company does (like, don't write software for a company whose core job is something entirely different). My company is really crumbling around me now, but I'm suddenly on one of the two most stable teams.
Are you still looking for a new job? I want you to be appreciated too!
