Thanksgiving trannies and lotus pose
Nov. 24th, 2006 02:08 pmI keep thinking it's Sunday because my brain can't wrap itself around this four-day weekend thing. The three-day workweek was so rough it felt like five, so why should this weekend be weird?
Yesterday I went and had turkey with a bunch of TBC's friends, which means mostly Mormons, a few ex-mormons and one trannie. I also got two pieces of news to be thankful for: my dad's surgery* went well, and my old friend Dark Sister finally got a long-awaited job offer from a company in Burlington, which means she and Whiplash Boy are definitely moving back to the greater Boston area. Any social awkwardness aside, this is good news for them and for me. C'mon c'mon DS, you know you want to live on the commuter rail... liiiiive on the commuter rail... ^_^
And as a final smidgen, I went to an ashtanga yoga class today and randomly did lotus pose for the first time since I was about 12. Hello nonlinearity. You have to fold one foot in and then the other... I guess the second foot can either get over the bulge of the already-folded-in calf or it can't, and if it can it pretty much goes all the way. Still, I'm surprised, because I haven't explicitly been working on it, and wasn't expecting that to happen for another couple of years.
*bladder stone removal. Yeah, I never heard of a bladder stone before either. Apparently they let him keep it, and it looks like a robin's egg.
