Games and computers and... I *still* haven't done my taxes

Last night I got to play Blokus for the first time (and 2nd and 3rd times). It turns out to be a great game, fast-paced and nonverbal and pretty.

Continuing to work through The Elements of Computing Systems, today I got a simulated CPU working, starting from a previously built ALU, two registers and a program counter. Zowie. And I did laundry too. Sometimes I think I'm okay, you know?

My nerdiness centers me and gives me feelings of accomplishment, just like fitness stuff does (which reminds me: today I climbed up on the squat rack, pretended I was a bar and let a girl overhead-press me. I did keep my hands on the squat rack for stability, but it must've been quite a sight! She wants to bench-press me next. New goal: to get the two of us kicked out together.) I just tend not to post about it, because the feelings of satisfaction are so hard to convey in words and pretty pictures are impossible.

hah, i wondered from this description if it was water_childe, who kinda meets that description. but this morning when i asked her about it she said "no, but i know who that was! i want her to bench press me too!" :)

haha -- not surprised. this girl is hard to miss. tell water_childe that if she ever wants to say hi to me I'm the blonde in the free weights section who sometimes hangs out with Miss Ball of Lightning.
