Music and writing

flexagonWhoo. DS gave me a whole CD of Paul Oakenfold mp3s and I'm working my way through it (luckily it does not contain the album I just paid for). I had a rather long talk with DS about the whole thing... apparently Oakenfold in the dance-music club world is a lot like Robert Jordan in the fantasy fan world, with lots of detractors for no especially good reason (besides being too popular and too sort of basic, maybe); generally considered a decent starting point, but one that you move beyond if you're enough into the scene. And DS definitely is... he heads down to New York City twice a month to see DJs and things like that.
Anyway... damn there are a lot of things I want to do, several of them involving writing. I really want to finish my environmentalist book this weekend before it goes out of my head, and write up a good review, just for myself; and I've promised the founding "father" of nokidding.net a story for their stories section because there is no representation there, or on any other childfree site I've found, of egg donors. Might as well do my bit to educate people about their alternatives. It might be a while though--I have to do girly wedding-related things on both Saturday and Sunday.
