Three Wednesday tidbits

• My first FO, knitter-slang for "finished object", is done now. Everybody say hello to the cap. In regards to my last post... the two other people I know who are about my age and who knit actually COULD be described as, mmm, detail oriented. But I'm not, as we all know, so that's fine. Ahem.
  
  



• This virtual bubblewrap is more satisfying than it ought to be, especially in "manic mode".



• It's interesting to read another perspective on working at a large famous search company. And yet another with intern-level views of that company and Microshaft and Yahoo.

Thanks! It's not mistake-free... but I wanted to learn cables. It was fun to be learning a new stitch on every row for a little while there.

That's a lovely hat. I'm always impressed whenever anyone can make something and it turns out the way it ought to and not say, like a microwave or something. I am not the making-things-type, but I can appreciate those who are.

That's really interesting... all I want to do is make things. I like making stories and software and and drawings and mechanical things and families and zines and actually pretty much anything, though I never have stuck with any one craft for very long. Maybe knitting will turn out to be The One, who knows. :)

I dunno, chickie. I went and found a knitting community here on dear old LJ, and I was actually wondering if anyone else gets the "thank god you're in therapy" type responses to their knitting (for the record, I started doing it because Chia convinced me it was interesting and that I could knit a cabled sweater with a bit of practice... and then gave me enough yarn to do so. I always wanted one of those. Bonus if it also is enjoyable -- in fact, it better be enjoyable, because a sweater like that will take months).

What I actually found was a post, which I can't find now, from someone who was able to go off her medication and stop attending therapy after she started knitting. Ahhhhh, fuck it, I give up!

I finally finished those fingerless gloves that I made for you in exchange for the Neko Case CD. I just need your address to ship them to you. I feel silly giving them to you now, since you could probably make them as easily as I did at this point. :)
