That's a Charles Schulz quote. Wow, some of those are pretty cynical -- maybe he was like Roald Dahl, writing great things for children and thinking nastily funny thoughts on the side.

It's been easy to get depressed this week, watching silly people line up to pay hundreds of dollars for the iPhone. So here's your sunshiny thought for the day: you're probably not one of these poor suckers with BIID or (even more scary) Alien hand syndrome. Hurray!

Maybe someday we'll see the "Secret Drawings of Charles Schulz: What he never wanted the public to see."

BIID/Alien limb stuff freaks me out enough that I have nightmares about it. I think part of my freakouts has to do with stupid Fibromyalgia/Rheum Arthritis, and how I didn't feel amputated or anything, but I certainly felt disconnected from limbs, and a sort of powerlessness inside a weakened body that likes to project pain randomly. I'm nigh-unto obsessive about my body as an indispensable tool, and needing ALL MY PARTS to function well, because back near Christmas, I was worried I'd need a cane to hobble around.

I found a quote I loved on that page: "If I were given the opportunity to present a gift to the next generation, it would be the ability for each individual to learn to laugh at himself."

Some of the more overtly cynical ones were great too. :)
