Update from Mundania

I am cheerful because I managed to freak out someone with how far I can reach my left hand up my back. Sure, the person cleverly retaliated by giving me shit about my knitting, but it was worth it. Allllllll worth it. >:)
We got a new refrigerator this weekend, and gave away the old one, and had some people over for dinner -- not on the same day. One couple was pregnant, and the other couple brought over their baby... as I like to say, we try to childproof the house but sometimes one gets in anyway. I explained carefully to baby Rye that this was my condo and if he puked on it, he would have to answer to me. Needless to say, he was quite well-behaved after that. Must have been my masterful manner. Ahem.
On Monday I told my coworker ET about my almost-certainly-pending departure from Colubrid (for those who recall, I became part of Colubrid when it ate Politic Frog... is it now shitting me out?), annnnnd then we had a giant meeting in which the vision for the next year's worth of work was laid out for us. Nobody likes it, it's like a blanket of mold across the 2008 calendar. I think ET had a bad day. For my part, I remain cheery in the face of the mold, and I ask pointed questions about why we're doing what we're doing, but in a fairly serene tone of voice.
Tonight was the first gymnastics class in a little over a month; can I just tell you how lousy I am at gymnastics, hmm? Lousy! Lousy! I had a pretty glorious thought today though, which is that I could visit NECCA (formerly Nimble Arts) at some point during my 2 weeks off if they had any interesting workshops going. They don't, but it's still a good idea. They have a lot of "create your own schedule" options, and I would really like some tips on handbalancing that aren't coming from a gymnast.
islenskr or
dilletante or anyone else, what would you think of splitting a private class or two with me in early October?
Bedtime for me. No more reading my blog for you. Go categorize some galaxies or something.

Circussing in October
Date: 2007-09-06 02:32 pm (UTC)Still, you should go to Nimble, even if you have to go it alone. You'll love it!
Oh, and if you do, do stop by Sidehill Farm jam company on the first floor below Nimble. Get a jar of 'Apple Pie in a Jar'. Really. Trust me on this.
private classes at NECCA
Date: 2007-09-13 08:06 pm (UTC)I'd cheerfully share classes in October. I'm in Northampton, I could drag islenskr along probably, it would be fun.
do you want balancing or would you like to try some of the aerial stuff?
Re: private classes at NECCA
Date: 2007-09-14 11:13 am (UTC)What day/days would be good for you? I'm asking because I'll have to rent a car to get there (sigh) so some planning is appropriate. (If you want to take this off lj, it's lemming insertAThere alum dot mit dot edu).
