Happy Earth Day

flexagonAhem. I cut down three trees for Earth Day this year, before eating my vegetarian breakfast and taking public transportation to work; what have YOU done?
(For what it's worth, these things were saplings, annoying little pests that got a chance to crash my hedge-party when the hedge was trimmed back a couple of seasons ago. Just within the last week, they started unfolding their pesky leaves so I could really see them; it was a good time to nip them, while the privet bushes still have the whole growing season to fill in the little gaps that are left.)
It's apparently a bad time to know me right now, even if you're not a tree. I have two friends getting surgery soon, one friend who just found out she's pregnant with a Down's Syndrome baby, two who are really depressed... no wait, three, although only one of these is having debilitating migraines. And then there's Frankenstein, the small furry elephant in the room. He's not eating much anymore, even with appetite-stimulating pills.
Oh, yes, and my big algorithms exam... I got such a normal grade that my score is between the mean and the median. Blah. Not too proud of that, though it's not a disaster either. I think things are stabilizing and I should be cruising for a very good summer, but there remain some nasty hurdles between now and then.
