Surf's up!
Apr. 28th, 2008 10:08 amAh, good T surfing this morning. Admittedly, this could be because I stopped at the gym on the way to work to do the squats I couldn't get to last night, which (though tiring) did make me feel alive and alert and strong. But still, I had a good stance, the train was going fast enough to make it challenging, and it was just good to be playing with momentum and gravity. Once I touched the wall and whispered "damn", and a woman smiled at me... I felt like she understood the game.
I haven't posted about workouts for a long time, but I never really quit, you know. Last week was a great week for ping-pong, and my dhanurasana has suddenly gotten way better, with my ribcage well up from the floor (I used to always be on my hipbones and lower ribcage). It's a nice thing to suddenly not suck at, since it'll be the pose of the month at my studio for May.
And on the topic of backbends and dome-love, here are some pictures from Bring Your Child to Work day. One thing I like about kids -- they are naturals at partner acro. This particular one was more than willing to assist me with my backbend, which is way better in these pictures than it usually is at 10 in the morning.
