My acquisition of John Wright's The Golden Age sent us running to check the covers of the Philip Pullman series starting with The Golden Compass. Same font, all right, at least on the cover Amazon shows (and on our copy of The Amber Spyglass), and we'd recognized it and cared enough to go running for confirmation. I looked at HLM and said I guess we're font nerds now. He grinned and said Cool!

(I also bought and read Bellwether by Connie Willis, which was fun and smart. One would think, though, I'd've learned not to read her on the bus by now if I want to make my stop. Sigh.)

I had another very nice moment. This one came as I bench-pressed the 45-lb dumbbells for the first time ever and watched them float up toward the ceiling. I'm really surprised how my pecs seem to be on a roll lately... not that I feel like stopping them. So lifting was great because of that, even though I went easy on my legs... then I went over and helped B move, with about 7 other people, and there I wasn't easy on anything, especially my back. (Huge couch, narrow staircase--well, you've helped friends move before, you know how it is). I'm out of glutamine, so I suspect some soreness is in the cards for tomorrow.
