A thought I had recently: as of next month I'll have been in Boston for just as long as I lived in the town I grew up in... fourteen years. Fourteen adult years in which I've been awake and aware and doing things, very formative -- in their own way more formative than when I was young and had no choices.

Another thought I had recently: as of next year, I'll be 32, twice as old as I was when I fell in love for the first time and became sexually active. Sixteen years of no sex, wow. Sixteen years of sex, wow!! (And for nine of those years I've been with [livejournal.com profile] heisenbug. That's more than half of it. Good grief.)

I won't always be young enough for this kind of thing to happen, but for now I am. Does it mean anything, or is it just fun to play with numbers? I can't wait until I've been in Boston significantly longer than I was in Montana. And it will be fun someday when I've been married to [livejournal.com profile] heisenbug for 26 years, the age I was when I married him. And it will be fun someday to have a million dollars. I think everyone plays these games. If nothing else, they make me not sorry to see time passing.

I do this, too. :) My big 'hmmm' came when I turned 34, the age my mom was when she gave birth to me. In another two years, I'll have been in Boston the same amount of time I was in Toronto, and I'll have to think about where to next, since conveniently, my work visa runs out then, too.

(ps. I'm going to see another film at the MFA on Thursday, As Tears Go By (http://www.mfa.org/calendar/event.asp?eventkey=34759&date=8/21/2008), not quite as educational as "Manufactured Landscapes", but I thought I'd mention it since I thought of you. :)

Have I told you how much I love you and am glad we're friends recently? This is such the cool Flexy-style post, and it just made me smile. :-)
