flexagonOooh! I did it! I'm a blue stripe! I'm doing the blue stripe victory dance! :D
I could have gotten my new belt tonight, but decided to come on home and do a double class on Friday instead (I'm pretty sore from yesterday's wheel kicks).
The victory dance doesn't even stop there: today also determined that I'm going to be Elite in Ricochet Robot for the first time in months and months. HLM has been kicking my ass, true, but at least I made the top category; so I'm celebrating anyway.

I'm tempted to say something along the lines of "I'm still not that good, nobody good would have taken this long to get it in the first place", but I'm so relieved to be at what I consider the right level that I really can't summon up the bitterness. It's pretty clear that I've been overestimating myself anyway, at least when not wildly underestimating and getting down on myself. I need to be calmer at this belt level and work a lot on balance. (It will probably help that most of my friends suck at wheel kicks and won't be testing again anytime soon.)
