Tango... and several other subjects...
Aug. 7th, 2003 03:29 pmIn all that blither I didn't mention how incredibly pleased I ended up being with my tango dress (it's #899, second row of pictures, but I have it in black). I didn't realize how well it moved when I just tried it on in front of the mirror, but indeed it does... the hem swirls all over the place even when I just walk. Dancing last night, it was doing quite well... certainly much better than I was, considering that we were doing lots of turns and I kept getting dizzy. ;) I just ordered it in red so I can wear it for the reception w/o looking like I'm in mourning.
I wrote that yesterday... today, I will just say that last night was really neat. Reminded me that HLM is indeed my best friend, and not someone sitting across the table from me playing nasty strategy games. Er, actually he is that too, but only at T's game nights. Other nights, he is just my nice bug who goes for walks with me... duh. At any rate, all is well. :)
Even work is all right for the moment. All set for next week's trip... software all installed on laptop... I even put a cute kitty picture on the laptop as a background so I will miss her a bit less. (I'll be out next Weds-Thurs, and maybe Friday too, so you'll be free of my relentless blither for a little bit.)
We also set up a time to talk with the nice hotel lady about reception details. I asked her over the phone about early checkin on the day of the wedding, so I could get all dressed up at the hotel before the ceremony. She said she'd put in a request but couldn't guarantee anything, and then she said "I'll just tell you... that's the party line, but they really always let people check in if they need to. And in this case, certainly, for a bride...." It's pretty funny, there really is this thing where everyone is extra super nice to me. No wonder some people practically collapse when suddenly the wedding passes and they aren't the center of the universe anymore! It's nuts. That said, I fully intend to be as kind to future brides as people are being to me right now, so I guess I'm part of the problem.
Lastly... I bought a brand new box of cornstarch at the grocery store today. <smirk>
